Deutsche Telekom Relies on PowerMon From Unify Square

BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 23, 2015 – Unify Square (Unify²) is assisting Deutsche Telekom with immediate effect in the provision of its Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) offering, EnrichedBusinessCommunication (EBC). To do so, UCC integrator Unify² has combined its proactive monitoring service PowerMon with Deutsche Telekom’s Microsoft Lync-based UCC offering. This combination benefits EBC customers and users with higher availability and better quality.

Proactive Monitoring from the Cloud

“For EBC to function, not only our cloud and network infrastructure must function faultlessly; so must the customer’s environment,” says Dr. Jörg Berthold, Head of Hosted PBX at Deutsche Telekom. Troubleshooting system outages were once very complicated because there were different areas of responsibility and a wide range of error sources. In addition, the support team could only respond once the outage had been manually recorded and registered in the system.

PowerMon simplifies fault detection and rectification. The cloud service continually checks whether various EBC application scenarios are running smoothly through synthetic transactions. If there is a bug, the system sends an automatic alert to an appropriate Telekom service center. “As a result, Deutsche Telekom can, in many cases, solve problems proactively before users are even aware of them,” says Jochen Kunert, Vice President EMEA, at Unify².

Help to Self-help Boosts Customer Satisfaction

If the fault is in the customer’s environment the Deutsche Telekom support team can help them correct the issue with detailed error reports. This support is an added benefit for corporate customers whose IT environment is provisioned by a system integrator because they can now notify their provider’s support team of a malfunction much sooner and in greater detail than in the past.
