Unify Square Liberates Enterprises From Manual Device Management for Unified Communications With New Built-in PowerSuite Solution

Multi-Vendor Device Management Solution Automates Firmware Updates and Complex Configurations; Yealink IP Phone Option is First of Many Supported Vendor Devices

Bellevue, WA – MARCH 21, 2017 – Unify Square, the leading provider of software, consulting and 24×7 cloud managed services for Skype for Business, today announced early access availability of the industry’s first multi-vendor device management solution within PowerSuite, Unify Square’s operations solutions software. Until now, enterprise IT teams have struggled to manage their unified communications (UC) environments using various point tools to manually configure and deliver firmware updates across thousands of different devices. The new solution from Unify Square provides heterogenous, automated device management and a one-stop shop for addressing all types of UC enabled vendor devices across the enterprise. In conjunction with this announcement, Unify Square is showcasing support for one of the world’s preeminent providers of IP endpoints, Yealink, as the first of many compatible IP phone and UC endpoint device systems to be announced later this month.

The number and diversity of UC devices within enterprise environments poses a significant challenge to the success of UC systems due to security and compliance issues, as well as costs associated with manual troubleshooting and configuration. At last count, the average employee uses three devices daily for work purposes. With each device type requiring regular firmware updates and custom configuration, IT teams require an automated device management solution to address the management of various devices at scale. However, a recent survey by Osterman Research uncovered 77% of organizations do not employ any software or services to automate the management and configuration of UC enabled devices. Instead, 42% of IT’s total time focused on devices is spent manually addressing issues, which in a 10,000 seat enterprise can add up to $100,000 of unnecessary spend.

The newly added device management capabilities in PowerSuite gives IT teams control over firmware management, including availability awareness, and automatic rollouts, as well as configuration settings. One of the solution’s key features is individual and bulk device configuration. With this feature, enterprise IT teams are able to configure a list of settings globally, to a specific site or location, individual vendor and device model, or individual user’s device – all through one single solution. Additionally, IT can view a comprehensive list of devices which includes the device owner, current firmware version as well as IP/MAC address. The ability to automate these tasks frees up IT’s time to focus on improving the overall health of the UC system. With Yealink IP phones, users will find familiar iconography and operation flows akin to Skype for Business, making it easy to implement both on-premises and cloud PBX optimized functionality via the desk phone..
